Job description

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • The primary responsibility for this position is to provide generalist support in various HR areas, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, onboarding, unemployment claims, workplace injuries, exit interviews, retention, employee recognition and appreciation, training and HR compliance. This position will also be responsible for performing other HR related duties and working closely with HR leadership.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Generalist HR Responsibilities:
      • Coordinates temporary staffing, including reviewing agreements and cost, and serves as point of contact for temporary agencies for positions at Orthopedic One
      • Monitors online forums for reviews/comments and questions which necessitate a response from the employer, such as Indeed, Glassdoor, etc., to maintain a positive and professional presence.
      • Supports the learning of new supervisors by assisting with individual training on the interview process, including demonstrating and observing during the interview process, and follow-up evaluation documentation.
      • Responds to inquiries for shadowing opportunities in clinical spaces per Orthopedic One guidelines, including contacting providers about availability, and notifying operations and compliance leaders.
      • Gathers information to respond to unemployment claims, which may include special unemployment programs under ODJFS.
      • Supports documentation and submission of first reports of injury to MCO for work-related injuries and ensures electronic files are kept up to date.
      • Completes and documents exit interviews and periodic trend reports to HR leaders.
      • May serve as a backup on routine employee relations and disciplinary matters, such as attendance.
      • Processes month end and quarter end reports on specified HR metrics and assists with data integrity across HR systems.
      • Provides support on administration of the performance management system.
      • Assists with employee appreciation events and other gatherings, as well as employee recognition.
      • Ensures labor law postings are available and up to date in all designated areas at Orthopedic One locations.
      • Reviews and documents invoices related to background checks, recruitment costs, and related expenses n department budgeting workbook, submits needed documentation to finance for payment.
      • Participates in continuing education opportunities to maintain a proficient knowledge base in various areas of HR and stays up to date on changes in legislation and regulations.
      • Participates in and provides assistance with process improvement initiatives, workflow efficiencies, and special projects in various areas of the HR department.
      • Provides support to HR leadership and other duties or projects as assigned.
    • Recruitment/Selection/Onboarding:
      • Provides support to talent acquisition team including sourcing, recruitment, and onboarding for various positions for coverage or based on workload.
      • Communicates with Hiring Manager, updates or creates job postings based ono approved staffing requisitions.
      • Facilitates position presence on Orthopedic One careers website and coordinates/distributes posting of positions to job boards, professional organizations, or other internet-based posting boards/social media according to Orthopedic One policy.
      • Develops phone screening tools and interview questions for assigned positions including first interview with HR and second interview with Hiring Manager.
      • Screens applications and resumes, conducts first interviews and makes recommendations for second interviews to Hiring Manager.
      • Coordinates applicant correspondence via the applicant tracking system and documents via interview evaluation form the basis for recommendations.
      • Ensures the maintenance of accurate and complete records concerning the recruitment process and facilitates completion of staffing requisition files.
      • Facilitates job offers for candidates selected by Hiring Manager, including obtaining compensation approval, coordinating start date and communication surrounding benefits.
      • Works with credentialing team when necessary to assist and support in acquisition of required documentation, as well as conducts verification of all licensure / certification as required by position.
      • Facilitates completion of post-offer, pre-employment requirements on job candidates and maintains proper communication with new hires during this phase of onboarding.
      • Works with Hiring Manager and talent acquisition team to coordinate date of hire schedule for new hires and prepare welcome items.
      • Facilitates day of hire meeting with new hires, including delivery of Orthopedic One resources to support new hire, completing documentation, computer systems overview, uniform fitting and items pertaining to the onboarding process
      • Participates in and is primary point of contact for the preparation and delivery of New Hire Orientation.
      • Ensures entry of information into HRIS and new employee file is accurate and complete.
      • Conducts 45-day post-employment interview with new hires to follow-up on their employment experience and answer any questions/concerns.

  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
    • Policies and Procedures
      • Knows and complies with policies and procedures as enumerated in the Orthopedic One Employee Handbook and policies and procedures documents.
      • Provides assistance and support to leadership in implementing policies and procedures as necessary.
      • Actively participates in training, and conducting day to day work activity by adhering to all policies and procedures as enumerated in compliance and risk management programs.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education, Experience, Certification and Licensure Requirements:
      • A high school diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in business or Human Resources preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience specific to Human Resources, including full-cycle recruitment required. Previous HR experience in healthcare desirable. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Previous systems experience including ATS, HCM, CRM, and Microsoft Office required.
