Human Resources Associate (Part-Time)

General Function:

Friends School of Baltimore is seeking a part-time HR Associate. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day payroll processing operations and provide on-site HR assistance.

Essential Functions:

• Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll, resolve payroll-related issues and monitor payroll reports and tax filings.
• Process verification of employment requests.
• Create and prepare periodic reports from the HR/payroll system.
• Assist with the full-cycle recruiting, including postings, background checks, and new hire paperwork. HB486 Form.
• Provide assistance with the onboarding and exit interview process and associated paperwork.
• Assist with annual open enrollment.
• Assist with Benefits inquiries.
• Report workers' compensation claims and prepare OSHA log.
• Coordinate and complete surveys.
• Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, filing, mass mailings, and other clerical-related duties as they arise.
• Process Unemployment claims
• Assist with wellness initiative.

Reporting Lines:

This position reports directly to the HR Director.

Compensation:

$24-$27/ hr

Schedule:

Part-time 30 hours per week

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience and a strong understanding of payroll systems and payroll laws.
• Minimum of two years of HR experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle confidential information.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Experience using the Isolved HCM platform.
• Bachelor's degree (Human Resources, Business Management, or Accounting)
