POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Safety and Facilities Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities relating to the facility maintenance, compliance and adhering with occupational health and safety (OSHA) guidelines. Your main goal will be to always ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. The Safety and Facility Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employees’ safety at work.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plan and implement OHSA policies and programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Company Safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare for audits and monitor hazardous material compliance in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
  • Set up office space, furniture, misc. department moves as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessment.
  • Assign and monitor employee parking lot.
  • Regularly check structures, systems, and equipment for proper operation.
  • Source and coordinate repairs with external vendors.
  • Perform and enforce preventive measures, minor building maintenance “handyman” and safety duties.
  • Assist with restock and purchase of office and Kitchen supplies.
  • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
  • Occasional pickup and delivery of company goods and materials using company vehicle.
  • Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Building facility/ Safety Coordinator or similar role
  • 1 year of experience in producing reports
  • Excellent knowledge of OHSA and EHS procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Familiarity with city/county building codes
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player

Education

  • Associate degree or formal training in maintenance or safety management or similar field
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certification
