The Opportunity

As an Environmental Equity and Evaluation Specialist within MERLA (Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning and Adapting) division of the Equity Capability, you will support the Program Director in leading a team of environmental justice, technical assistance, and data analytics specialists. Using and equity lens, you will help the team provide support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and communities across the nation for a large new EPA grant program where Abt is the primary subcontractor to a small business prime.

Core Responsibilities

• Supporting a team that will work with EPA to produce programmatic logic model of multiple grant programs as well as model logic models for grantees.
• Working with the training team to produce training in evaluation and metrics for grantees.
• Providing midterm program evaluation to allow for midcourse corrections
• Working with the Data Solutions Team to provide key inputs into the reporting and tracking system.
• Coordinating with the prime contractor on matters related to contracts, deliverables, schedule, and staffing.
• Handling day-to-day administration of the project, including budget tracking, contracts management, and staffing.
• Supporting the Program Director in reporting to the EPA Account leadership on overall performance of the project.

• Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of logic modeling, equitable evaluation, and metrics development
• Has a demonstrated commitment to fostering and contributing to a team environment that is human centered and grounded in equity.
• Has proven skills in engaging in liberated gatekeeping and power sharing with individuals with lived experiences and lived expertise
• Knowledge of and experience working on environmental justice Issues.
• Experience in producing products that are easy for the public to use and understand.
• Demonstrated experience and success in all aspects of project management.
• Experience as a subcontractor managing financial and contractual relationships with a prime contractor.
• Experience with environmental justice programs that include direct work in communities and with CBOs.
• Experience developing reports, briefings, and decks and presenting in a professional and influential manner.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and to meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer relationship skills.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $72,259 to $127,177 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal Equity and market analysis.
