Summary:
This position is part of our Human Resources Operations team, focused on supporting our largest business unit and corporate Human Resources operation functions related to recruitment and new hire integration. This high-pace position requires an unwavering commitment to internal and external client service, attention to detail and accuracy, teamwork, ability to multitask and problem solve, and comfort with both redundant and ambiguous tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling candidate interviews including occasional coordination of travel arrangements
- Posting positions on the company website and across other targeted media
- Completing new hire pre-employment tasks including facilitating employment verifications and background checks
- Facilitating first-day orientation sessions for new employees
- Creating employment records for new hires in our HRIS system
- Maintaining neat, accurate candidate and employee files
- Creating and updating best practice documentation for staffing tasks
- Supporting university outreach, college recruiting, and internship programs
- Managing internal processes, such as ordering business cards and service awards
- Supporting voluntary and involuntary termination processes
- Participating in process improvement and special projects
- Assisting with new employee integration
- Supporting the Human Resources function with data analysis and metrics
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Human Resources, business administration, or a related area
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience providing proactive, high-quality client service
- Strong team mentality with a willingness to assist where needed to contribute to the group's success
- Solid critical thinking skills and ability to bring forward situationally appropriate solutions to challenges
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexibility to prioritize and negotiate competing responsibilities and client requests, completing tasks with minimal supervision
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area
- Experience with the meeting scheduling components of Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft Teams
- Knowledge of laws related to recruiting and hiring
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking systems, preferably Workday
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office.
