Form of workOur client is a national law firm with an impressive Employee Benefits practice, one of the largest and most tenured in the country. The firm has asked our company to recruit a Litigation Associate to join their Minneapolis office and ERISA team.
The role involves:
- Representing employee benefit plan clients, particularly in collecting overdue employer contribution claims.
- Addressing benefit denials.
- Managing subrogation and intervention claims.
- Handling benefit claim appeals.
- Dealing with employer withdrawal liability claims.
Responsibilities extend to appearing in both state and federal courts and encompassing casework management, including drafting demand letters, initiating litigation, crafting motions, conducting depositions, and overseeing post-judgment collections. Additionally, this position entails assisting in response to subpoenas and handling information requests from plan participants and employers. Moreover, the job includes supporting the representation of various employee benefit plans such as Taft-Hartley health, retirement, annuity, and apprenticeship plans.
Partnership: This is a partnership track position, and the path to partnership is realistic and attainable.
Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position is located in Minneapolis. The firm will relocate the successful candidate.
Minnesota bar licensure is required upon joining the firm, but our client is willing to consider those yet to be licensed in Minnesota.
The firm may allow a hybrid work arrangement once the associate-partner relationship has been established.
This position could be an incredible opportunity if you have a solid litigation background, with Federal and State Court experience, and are interested in specializing in a specific employment law area.
