Sound Publishing, Western Washington State’s premier community newspaper/media company, is now accepting applications for an Assistant in our Human Resources department to be based out of our Federal Way, WA office. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide variety of HR components (on-boarding, leaves and compliance/reporting,) with a heavy emphasis on Recruitment. The candidate will also have experience with administering policies and procedures, etc.
Seeking a highly motivated self-starter who is adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results-driven, rapidly changing environment. This is a small HR department and requires a significant amount of daily administrative taskwork.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years' progressive HR experience.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or HRCI certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years' Recruiting experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to travel to each of the company's multiple locations in WA State as well as access, and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Also required: valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and adequate liability insurance on your vehicle since it will be used for company business.
