Human Resources Assistant Job Description
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00
Department: Administration Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager and other department managers with HR related issues.
Essential Functions
· Report all injury and property damage accidents or incidents to the Safety Office, Supervisor, and/or Human Resources as soon as possible after they occur
· Complete a satisfactory probationary 90-day
· Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
· Must be able to work in a team environment by assisting others, as needed and maintaining a positive attitude
· Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and conducting initial interviews.
· Coordinate employee orientation and ensure new hires are properly onboarded.
· Maintain employee records and update HR databases with new hire information, changes in employment status, and other relevant data.
· Support HR manager in implementing employee engagement initiatives and programs.
· Conduct data entry and maintain accurate HR records and files
· Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and preparing documents.
· Keep track of benefits enrollments and premiums to be paid
· Assist with employee grievances and investigations
· Complete work verifications and unemployment forms for employees
· Audit personnel files twice a year to ensure company filing policies are being followed
· Assist with ADA and other applicable reasonable accommodation requests
· Type correspondence, memos, and other materials; arrange format and content for effective presentation of information; revise and draft forms as needed.
· Perform general office duties such as typing, operating office machines, match receiving documents

Requirements, Education & Experience
· High School Diploma or GED
· 1+ years of Human Resources experience
· Associates preferred
· Bilingual English/Spanish required
· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment
· Excellent attention to detail
· Basic mathematical skills
· Computer competency
· Must be positive, self-starter, self-directed, reliable, and responsible
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
Schedule
· The standard schedule for the HR Assistant is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. However, when the need arises employee may be required to overtime, weekends and or holidays.
Work Environment
· This position requires work in a typical farm environment and includes conditions such as the following: cold, heat, wet, humid, fumes, odors, dust, gases, trip hazards, sharp objects, and heavy objects.
