Schedule: Varies. M-Friday 8:00-4:30 with additional hours as necessary
Travel: 15%
Pay:$23/hr DOE
Summary:
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the NPRs human resource department. The HR Assistant will identify, recruit, and screen potential employees for specific positions for The Northern Plains Railroad, Inc. (NPR) d.b.a. Northern Plains Rail Services (NPRS) and other affiliated companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities but are not limited to:
Onboarding
IRecruit Administrator
Hiring Events:
Interviewing:
Advertising/Coding
New Employee Orientation
Ensure compliance with Affirmative Action and EEO regulations and maintain EEO Recruiting logs
Analytics
Assist with Job Fairs when needed
Back up to Recruiter
Special Projects as requested.
Competencies:
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Excellent customer/employee skills and maintain positive relations.
- Attention to detail; dead-line oriented, manages time, and data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Demands:
- Continuous: Sitting for long periods of time, good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand & finger dexterity and visual acuity needed (use of computer equipment for long periods of time).
- Possession of a valid drivers license and ability to use your private vehicle is desired but not mandatory.
Environmental:
- Office environment.
Education and Training:
- High School Education or equivalent.2 Year associate degree or bachelors degree preferred.
- Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
- On the Job Training will be provided for position specific duties.
- Experience in Word, Excel and Outlook a plus.
Must possess a valid drivers license. Must have and maintain an insurable driving status which includes but is not limited to NPR driver provisions.
- Must be willing to travel when necessary.
