A DAY IN THE LIFE!Daily, you will work closely with the Human Resources (HR) team to administer the company's Human Resources strategy. You will assist with a wide array of tasks from educating information to staff on benefits, entering updates into the personnel system, helping with employee orientation, and much more!
WHO ARE YOU?You have experience in HR and can confidently navigate sensitive personnel matters with employees. You understand HR topics such as benefits, policies, and procedures. With a strong understanding of the importance of customer service, you can work with a diverse range of individuals. YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist the HR management team in the administration and organization of the worker's compensation program.
- Educate and advise staff on employee benefits and provide departmental support in benefit administration including billing, and communication.
- Work directly with senior HR personnel to ensure the administration of company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Manage the intake of employee complaints, incidents, accidents, and other personnel-related issues.
- Facilitate changes to personnel files by updating the personnel system and responding to verifications of employment and agency requests.
- Assist with the company's orientation process and collaborate cross-departmentally with various teams to provide training to all new staff.
- Prepares, tracks, and manages employee leave records and programs.
- Proven communication skills that will be used to communicate with a diverse range of individuals concerning sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent attention to detail regarding important and private personnel information.
- The ability to prioritize your time effectively in an environment with strict deadlines.
- Associate degree in Human Resources (or related field) and at least one (1) year of experience in a Human Resources position. An equivalent amount of education and experience can be substituted.
- Employment is contingent upon completion of the SPD employment process (including a background check).
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- 1+ year(s) of experience in the transportation industry.
- Salary: $21.82 - $26.63 per hour, decided based on experience.
- Schedule: Full-time on-site; Monday - Friday.
