Surgical Continuum is looking for a Human Resources Assistant who is motivated and goal oriented. The successful candidate will report to the Human Resources Director, offering HR support to In & Out Urgent Care locations in New Orleans, Metairie, Mandeville, and Covington.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Assist in the day to day operations of the HR Department.
· Provide operations support on issues such as talent and performance management and employment law.
· Assist with the recruiting and on boarding process.
· Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
· Acts as an employee relations specialist.
· Assist with the development of HR processes, policies and systems.
· Liaise with employees, supervisors, managers, co-workers in problem resolution.
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
· Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; Periodically audits Forms I-9
· Monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
· Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case file; follows up on open cases.
· Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employee and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes.
· Assist with annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employee under each benefit plan.
· Assist with the administration of COBRA for group health plans.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred, but not required.
· 2-3 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
· Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
· HRIS Knowledge preferred.
· Self-motivated, team player with excellent people skills.
· High level of discretion with confidential material.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
· Ability to operate general office equipment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to type 60 words a minute.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Must be willing to travel to urgent care locations when needed.
