Human Resources Generalist

Minimal Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 + years of HR experience in general HR operations.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
- Must have extremely strong problem solving and communication skills in order to research and answer HR related questions from employees and support the HR Department effectively and efficiently.
- Must be professional and have the ability to create boundaries.
- This position is required to report on-site M-F 9am-5pm.
Summary:
The HR Generalist performs and oversees tasks related to management and general business operations of the HR Department including, but is not limited to, work in functional areas; auditing; insurance; personnel management; Human Resources; employee benefits; employee relations; legal and regulatory compliance; and other HR activities. This position is required to perform other duties as assigned and not listed below within the scope of HR.
Responsibilities:
HUMAN RESOURCES ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the agency.
- Primary employee point of contact for all inquiries regarding policies, procedures and benefits.
- Manage new hire orientation process (prepare, coordinate, conduct new hire orientation, data entry and file creation).
- Prepare internal employee communication regarding benefits, compensation, or company policies as needed.
- Provides guidance/coaches managers/supervisors; seeks guidance from Director of HR as needed and/or refers managers/supervisors to Director of HR as needed.
- Ensure employee files remain in compliance with federal and state laws in addition to all applicable monitoring sources and organizational standards; oversee accuracy and maintenance of all employee personnel and benefit files.
- Responsible for credentialing/recredentialing of Non-Licensed Certified or Registered (NLCR) staff members.
- Represents the agency and Human Resource Department during all audits (internal and external).
- Responsible for all filing, data entry into HRIS for PACFs and Termination PACFS; Departmental processing.
- Create department/employee MEMOs including but not limited to: Training, Standard Processes, Change of Status etc.
- Process employee terminations; exit interviews, communication, data entry, benefits etc.; sends termination notification email.
- Advises managers/supervisors on disciplinary action including recommendations for suspension or termination.
- Conducts and/or witnesses’ employee termination meetings as needed.
- Participates in committees as assigned/volunteered.
- Conducts and/or participates in internal investigations as needed or in the absence of the Director of HR or as directed.
- Prepare, maintain and submit departmental/statistical reports as assigned.
- Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
- Assists with departmental and organizational projects as needed and requested.
- Ensures ADP Homepage is up-to date with most relevant organization information.
- Superuser for HRIS.
- In the absence of the HR Director, leads the HR Department.
Benefits:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of employee benefit program: medical, dental, vision, life, disability and supplemental insurance plans and retirement plan (403b).
- Compile and maintain benefit records and documents including payment processing and reconciliation, personnel/beneficiary status updates, new hire enrollment and termination of benefits.
- Advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefits matters.
- Ensure all benefit plan documents, summary plan descriptions, booklets and information brochures are accurate and current for distribution/post to ADP homepage.
- Oversee/ensure COBRA payments are processed through Third Party Vendor (e.g. CS Strategy).
- Responsible for the administration of FMLA.
- Respond to unemployment notices, coordinate and participate in hearings; represents the agency during unemployment hearings.
- Coordinates and leads annual open enrollment campaigns.
Recruitment:
- Superuser for ATS.
- Maintains spreadsheets, reports and hard copy paperwork.
- Process requests to hire with department directors and finance department.
- Prepare/open and maintain job postings for exempt and non-exempt positions; manages multiple job openings concurrently on multiple job boards.
- Review candidates in the ATS; complete phone screenings for qualified applicants as needed; recommend for on-site interview; coordinate on-site interviews as needed.
- Creates offer letters and extends offer of employment.
- Ensure the pre-employment/process is completed in an effective and efficient manner; follow up with candidates when needed.
- Ensure completion of all reference checks and background checks; ensure employee is ready to start on anticipated start date.
- Credentialing and Privileging of new employees in the other clinical staff category.
- Attend job fairs as needed.
