Description

     

The HR Generalist performs duties related to the administration of benefits for all employees. Maintain accurate departmental records ensuring compliance with all regulations. Supports Anoplate's employees in day to day needs and provides ongoing support for a variety of other Human Resources programs and activities.

 

Essential Functions

  • Oversees benefits administration to include educating and answering employee questions, new employee enrollment in benefits, as well as organizing open enrollment and the annual benefits fair. 
  • Maintains data in the HRIS system (Paylocity) to include employee compensation changes, personal data, benefit changes, training records, etc. while ensuring optimal utilization of all features.
  • Manages employee Medical Leave of Absences and Worker's Compensation/Disability claims to include employee notices, maintaining communication with out of work employees, submitting claim reports/forms, and overall claim administration. 
  • Provides backup to recruiting efforts to include conducting phone screens, fit interviews, background checks, etc. as needed. 
  • Responds to, and controverts as necessary, unemployment claim requests up to attending Anoplate at unemployment hearings. 
  • Administers termination processing to include notifying appropriate individuals of separations, sending separation paperwork, canceling benefits, and termination in HR/payroll systems.
  • Take appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and policies and addresses employee grievances.
  • Ensures bulletin boards contain current and required employment posters.
  • Creates and maintains various reports necessary to accurately monitor a variety of company driven metrics. 
  • Partners in maintaining the employee reward and recognition program.
  • Maintains confidential employee and company information within the Human Resources Department.
  • Provides support to Production Training department in tracking training documents, notifying managers of necessary training reviews, and ensuring reviews are conducted on time through notification system.  
  • Obtains and maintains the knowledge necessary to keep abreast of all current Federal and State regulations that affect the Company and employees. 
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor's degree preferred and 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources required. Equivalent combination of experience and education is considered. 
  • Must possess a technical and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to learn new software. Paylocity experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong empathy. 
  • The ability to form and maintain positive relationships with employees and management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information. 
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.
  • The ability to learn and apply a variety of Human Resources applications, including benefits and policies. 
  • Above average planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize effectively. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, neat and orderly work area and exhibit safe, neat, clean work habits.
