Human Resources GeneralistFull-Time (Exempt Salaried)
Monday - Friday 9:30am-6pm
Overview of Position: Performs duties at the professional level in all the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. Must be sensitive to employee goodwill and the business needs. 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off will be available after training is complete.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Minimum of five years’ generalist experience in Human Resources field preferred.
- General knowledge of Federal and New York State employment laws and practices.
- Employee leaves administration, recruitment, and onboarding experience.
- Outstanding proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems (e.g. ADP).
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail.
- Aptitude in problem-solving using critical thinking.
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
- PHR certification and/or SHRM-CP a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Administer employee leaves including disability, family and medical leave, and worker’s compensation.
- Manage the talent acquisition process by meeting with hiring manager to identify personnel needs and developing a recruitment strategy to attract, interview, and select qualified applicants to fill job openings.
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and meet with them to review and complete paperwork.
- Develop and schedule benefit orientation and assist employees with online software enrollment.
- Provide day-to-day benefits administration services. Assist employees with claim issues.
- Administer the separation and unemployment claims processes.
