JOB DESCRIPTION
Blue Valley Community Action Partnership (BVCA) is searching for a Human Resources Director to manage Human Resources services, policies and programs for BVCA. This leadership role focuses on employee recruitment, performance management, organizational development, employment and compliance with regulator concerns regarding employees, employee orientation and development, policy development and training, employee–agency relations, and compensation and benefits administration. The Human Resources Director is also responsible for assisting and advising other BVCA Directors in employee relations. The Human Resources Director ensures compliance with equal employment opportunity and civil rights requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Human Resources Director of a Nebraska nonprofit corporation designated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
- Lead Human Resources processes supporting 160 employees who provide a wide range of programs and services to a nine-county service area.
- Administer personnel policies, maintain employee personnel files, and annually review personnel files for completeness, fairness and compliance.
- Administer agency hiring and termination policies and procedures, provide notification of all job openings, develop job advertisements, develop interview tools and solicits, interview and offer employment to qualified candidates.
- Annually review personnel policies and procedures and recommend changes as needed.
- Serve as resource to agency employees, fields questions, research answers, consult with Chief Executive Officer and legal counsel (when necessary) regarding personnel issues and labor policies.
- Develop and maintain employee job descriptions.
- Research and maintain employee benefit options; solicit, monitor, and promote employee benefit package; and provide information to employees regarding benefit availability.
- Develop and deliver training targeted to build supervisory skills and other topics.
- Assist Department Directors and the Chief Executive Officer in the maintenance of comparable income for comparable employees.
- Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of BVCA’s Strategic plan.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public as well as other agency employees
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in the field of Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Three or more years of Human Resources management experience preferred.
- Human Resources management within an organization with 170 or more employees preferred.
- Experience working with a non-profit organization preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to create and maintain a work environment with a strong sense of teamwork.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and good time management skills.
- Must have proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office.
- Proof of United State Citizenship or a national or legal permanent resident.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to an insured motorized vehicle.
- Have not admitted to, have substantial evidence of, or been convicted of child abuse and/or neglect.
BENEFITS
- Pay Rate: $56,000–$62,000/year ($30/hour to $33/hour)
