As an HR Instructional Designer, you play a vital role in the delivery of our organization wide learning and development programs. You will design the delivery of intelligent and effective programs and be a key catalyst for moving the business forward through developing and empowering our talent. The Instructional Designer role drives success for employees by not only designing engaging learning and development experiences but being seen as a solution partner, focused on creating solution focused products that are efficient and engaging. We partner with leaders in the InnovAge business to understand their business and growth objectives and collaborate on solutions to help them engage their teams and drive human potential to solve complex challenges and meet goals.
Essential Functions and Work Responsibilities
Functional Category: Conducting Needs Analysis & Stewarding SME Partnerships
Estimated Percent of time Spent – 20%
- Demonstrate understanding of the healthcare industry and shape relevant programs and development solutions for a wide variety of learners
- Understand and have in-depth experience with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model to create effective L&D solutions
- Partner with our facilitation team and SMEs on the pilot, creation, and assessment of new programs
- Partner and propose learning and development solutions and strategies that meet the needs of the business

Functional Category: Building Instruction Design Materials Utilizing Adult Learning Theory
Estimated Percent of time Spent – 65%
Design and curate high quality learning and development projects across a range of healthcare disciplines
Create and manage instructional design project plans, using sound judgement to identify scope, delivery mechanisms, RACI, and deliver on timeframes
Use curriculum development tools to create effective e-learning training, facilitation guides, course material, training aids, self-led material, and other training support material
Partner with our facilitation team on the pilot and assessment of new programs
Work within an LMS and use of the staging area to test all courseware prior to delivery for a 100% confidence level of learner access and functionality
Support the LMS functionality for the entire organizations
Manage SCORM file and data integration for LMS and programs
Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Competency with eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate
Excellence in conducting learning needs analysis (ADDIE Model) and owning the content enhancement and update process
Create engaging training programs at scale while conveying a heightened level of accuracy
Strong project management skills and the flexibility to work on multiple projects concurrently
Studying critical user insights metrics and analytics to create a cohesive execution across all companywide initiatives leveraging adult learning expertise and superior writing and design skills.
Ability to effectively participate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Audio and video editing skills
Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), such as Relias
Functional Category: Development Program Enhancements & Measuring Effectiveness
Estimated Percent of time Spent – 15%
Work within an LMS and use of the staging area to test all courseware prior to delivery for a 100% confidence level of learner access and functionality
Maintaining awareness of new developments in training and instructional design and recommend modifications in our curriculum and practices
Develop new product design and modify design of existing product as required. Review and decide upon improvements to existing system designs. Determine new designs to eliminate future issues.
Respond to Learning and Development team inquiries for platform functionality and troubleshoot course and materials functionality
Able to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized with superior attention to detail on projects and long term success measurements
Support innovation and continuous improvement by providing input on instructional design and adult learning best practices to improve the experience of learners

Education
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design or related field; or equivalent work experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in ISD within healthcare learner environments and front-line employeesExperience establishing standardized ID program approaches that are repeatable and uniformed across all organizations ID functions
Experience in working with complex topics, research, or source material.

Computer Skills
Must be computer proficient and possess experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
