You will organize and manage the start-up of a new location by recruiting management and the labor force, and for delivery of comprehensive HR support to the location's operations in conformance with division and corporate policies and state and local employment regulations.
In addition to day-to-day support, you will lead HR initiatives shaping facility's culture, and ensuring safe and positive employee relations.
Viable candidates should have a minimum of three years' HR experience preferably in a food processing, food and beverage, or fast-moving consumer products goods industry.
- A bachelor's degree and bi-lingual English/Spanish are preferred.
- Strong full cycle recruiting background.
- A well-rounded background in benefits, compensation, Leave of Absence, training, employee relations, and worker's compensation.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Maryland state labor law is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good public relations, public speaking, instructional/teaching, and customer service skills.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP is preferred but not required.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain high level of confidentiality.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Recruitment of new employees, which includes reviewing qualifications, advertisement, screening applicants, setting up interviews.
- Coordinating background checks and physicals.
- Schedule and conduct new hire orientations, which include completing required documents (I-9, W-4, company policies, etc.), review company benefits, policies and insurance options.
- HRIS, and Microsoft Suite products experience preferred.
- Assist with Worker's Compensation and Leave of Absence processes as necessary, including the accommodations process.
- Assist with the placement of temporary staffing if necessary.
- Distribution of employee announcements and other communications, including maintenance of compliance posters and other necessary postings.
- Ensure all HR documentation is being compiled and maintained via HRIS.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from employees regarding policies, payroll, handbook, benefits, employment verifications, and any other inquiries
- Responsible for the documentation and appropriateness of employee disciplinary actions and terminations in coordination with corporate HR
