Job description

This role is based in the Washington DC office and will require in-person attendance 3 days per week. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

WRI's Human Resources to expand visibility and impact, and influence decision makers to advance solutions for today's environmental challenges.
Job Highlight:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will provide general support to the human resources department and processes including leading our flagship internship program. You will be coordinating meetings, responding to staff questions, assisting with documenting policies and processes, leading new-hire onboarding sessions and supporting to build positive employee relations. You will have the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience and have a bird-eye view of all areas in the human resources function. You will provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
What will you do:
Administration:

  • Administer HR policies and processes, including staff transfers, changes and terminations.
  • Processes required documents through the HR system to ensure accurate record-keeping (i.e job descriptions); manage and maintain all existing employee file
  • Conduct I-9 audit via ADP and e-verify and compete all re-verification
  • Complete employment verifications
  • Process mail
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Talent Onboarding:
  • Co-lead new-hire induction training by coordinating and facilitating specific sessions
  • Lead WRI US flagship internship program, engage summer interns in employee engagement activities including Intern-a-palooza
  • Prepare new-employee files; Conduct I-9 verification for all new hires

Communication & Engagement:
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner team members to create and manage information on WRI's intranet page
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Monitor HRBP inbox
  • Assist with internal HR communication as necessary
  • Coordinate and assist with the planning of tenure awards and other employee events as needed

What will you need:
  • Education: You have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or communications, sociology, psychology, business administration, public administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent years of full-time relevant work experience)
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Mature, professional demeanor to handle confidential information and requests with sensitivity
  • Passion for environmental sustainability
  • Languages: Full fluency in English required
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

Potential Salary: Salary range is between 57,000 and 62,000 USD. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
