Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Working under minimal supervision, serves as a trusted advisor providing proactive, business-driven, and practical advice and assistance to store management on employment related issues. Delivers advice and assistance consistent with Company values, strategy and business objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Consults with store management and provides HR guidance on employment related issues including employment/employee related policies, performance management, corrective action and termination decisions.
Delivers value-added service to store management reflecting business objectives and aligns with the company strategy. Applies operational knowledge when providing advice and recommendations on employee-related topics.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. Consults with the Compliance department to assist and advise store management appropriately on employee issues. Partners with Legal as needed.
Understands people data, trends and KPIs and uses data to inform and guide the advice and support provided to management.
Provides guidance to store management on issues related to disability and workplace accommodations. Participates in ADA Committee meetings and provides information and recommendations to the group related to individual leave claims.
Delivers training programs focusing on areas such as performance management, compliance, HR best practices and professional development.
Provides support, training and mentoring to HR Business Partner I and other members of the HR team regarding HR policies and practices and other employment related issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
3-5 years of progressively more responsible HR generalist experience, including employee relations
SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM CP certification preferred
Strong knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, emphasis on employee relations and performance management
Strong knowledge of employment related laws and regulations for all states in which we operate
Thorough understanding of the company’s culture, business model, hierarchy, and employment practices
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient with Google Suite.
