Since opening in 1996, the mission of Chelsea Piers Fitness has never changed: transform lives by delivering exceptional sports and fitness experiences that promote a healthier, happier and more active lifestyle. Chelsea Piers has proven its commitment to world-class fitness with its 130,000 square foot flagship club in Chelsea and a stand-alone club in Downtown Brooklyn. In the Spring of 2023, Chelsea Piers Fitness will expand to Prospect Heights, opening our second stand- alone 52,000 square foot club.
Our clubs feature study-quality fitness programming, comprehensive personal training, indoor swimming pools, recreational and competitive sports clubs, communal work and social spaces, artisanal food offerings and a year-round calendar of social and cultural events that reflect the ethos of the neighborhoods they serve. We focus on creating spaces that both inspire a sense of belonging and connection + foster growth in the individual through dedication and joy.

Role & Responsibilities:
As a Hospitality II MOD & Court Monitor, you will have the responsibility of delivering customer service in line with our Chelsea Piers Standards of Excellence. This role will be primarily based on the courts.

Court Monitor Responsibilities:
- Monitor the open run of basketball games by members including sign up process and scoreboard management
- Deliver customer service in line with our Chelsea Pers Standards of Excellence
- Monitor athletic equipment and report damage
- Move equipment as needed
- Clean up courts after usage including picking up towels and water bottles
Manager on Duty Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive attitude and take initiative
- Maintain Chelsea Piers Fitness product and brand knowledge
- Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
- Provide minor first aid as needed
- Complete incident reports as needed
- Proactively solve member issues
- Assist with closing hospitality duties
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Basketball playing experience and expertise, preferably at the college level
- Minimum of 6 months in customer service or related experience
- Experience in facilitating or coaching groups, teams or camps
- Community-minded
- Positive, can-do and joyful attitude with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive problem solver
- Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule ability to work on nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to perform physical aspects of position, including but not limited to standing for a full shift & lifting up to 30lbs at a time
