Temporary Internship Opportunity

Pay: $13.65/hour

Work Schedule: Part-Time Monday - Friday

This job is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.

OBJECTIVE:

The Technician I, Help Desk provides initial support (Tier I) for the Help Desk.  Performs maintenance on company-wide computer systems and peripherals.  Assists customers with use of Goodwill’s computer systems and software.  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in a computer related field with equivalent industry certifications(s) to supplement education preferred.  Must have one to two years prior experience in computer setup and maintenance.  Must have knowledge of, and experience installing computer systems in a network environment.  Must have knowledge of, or experience in, developing and/or implementing Windows Operating System.  Must be familiar with, and have experience repairing, current PC hardware.  Must be proficient with the major commercial programs in use by Goodwill.  

Per contract requirements with vehicle insurance provider: Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age and have no major traffic violations for previous 3 years (for driving/insurance purposes). Must have reliable transportation; must also be able to operate company vehicle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

• Responsible for the Help Desk and management of support tickets.  Provides initial support (Tier I) for the Help Desk.

• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Goodwill computer systems.  Must maintain overall knowledge, understanding, and use of computers in a networked environment.

• Responsible for computer software and hardware troubleshooting and repair on an ad hoc, emergency basis.  Must work in coordination with Systems team and any outside computer maintenance personnel in addressing hardware problems.

• Assists in the installation, and use of computer hardware, software, and supplies as needed.

• Provide on-going training and assistance to users on Goodwill's computer systems and software.

• Assists in the preparation of training materials for Goodwill's computer systems and software.

• Ensures maximum up-time for Goodwill's computer systems and software, including support coverage for evenings and weekends where applicable.  

• Must maintain good working relationships with all Goodwill personnel

• Performs duties and functions according to industry recommended best practices and Goodwill’s policies and procedures. 

• Provides technical support and service for the Excel Center.
