Job description

Crosby Senior Services, doing business as Heartwood Senior Living, is a shared partnership with Presbyterian Homes & Services. CRMC and Presbyterian Homes developed a shared vision, Crosby Senior Services, to provide a state of the art expanding Senior Care Community. The master plan included “Heartwood” a senior housing community with independent living, assisted living, and memory care which opened in 2007, and a footprint of where the care center attached to CRMC hospital could move over time. The new care center is under construction and planned to open in October 2024. There are aspirational discussions related to viewing how CSS could be a model for regional rural health care and work with licensing bodies toward this model of care delivery.

With 100+ employees, the Crosby Senior Services building is currently located in Crosby, MN, providing the full range of services needed to support the senior services community. As a new separate company, Crosby Senior Services will need to set up its own Human Resources department and will require the addition of the role of an HR Director. This rewarding position will be a full-time salaried position, starting at compensation of $80,000/year (plus experience considered), and a wide array of employee benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the senior services campus leadership team, the Human Resources Director provides daily direction and oversight to operational aspects of Human Resources. Responsible for ensuring people strategies, programs and department operations are efficiently aligned to respond to organizational needs and priorities. Serves as a human resource leader who provides exceptional support to all employees and the leadership team, all while upholding the organization's mission, vision, values and goals.

The position will have one HR Generalist direct report within HR, which will include payroll/benefit administration, safety/workers compensation, employee health and wellness, onboarding/compliance, recruitment/retention, and HRIS/system maintenance and optimization. The HR Director will also serve as a back-up for human resource daily processing of these areas in the event of employee absence and/or staff turnover.

The HR Director will be assisting with the initial set up and on-going maintenance/development of various HR policies, systems, tools, and benefit plans. This role will assist with a carve out from the current company’s collective bargaining agreement and any employment related policies to support the management of employees in the new entity. While this position will report immediately to the Senior Services Campus Administrator, there will be guidance and broad oversight from the HR Advisory Council. Ultimately, this role will take high level direction from the board of directors, with representatives from both organizations in the partnership.

The HR director will provide expertise and advise the HR Advisory team and management on a broad and comprehensive range of Human Resources activities, including recruitment, compensation, performance management, talent development, employment transactions, policy compliance, and other related HR functional areas.
