POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, develop and coordinate the strategic direction and management of the Human Resources function across the organization.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy for growth.
- Drive business outcomes by translating strategy into actionable plans by leading, designing, and executing people strategies and HR initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and review processes and procedures and align business operations to achieve quality services and outcomes.
- Define the overall HRIS strategy and roadmap to align HR with business goals.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Oversees the administration of Human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; employee relations; performance and talent management; learning and development, recognition, workforce planning, talent acquisition and payroll functions.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS).
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Champion a client centric culture of innovation.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Develops and implements departmental budget.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Minimum of ten years of experience in the human resource function with direct experience in leadership and partnering with business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team through change and drive the execution of initiatives across an organization.
- Manufacturing and/or operations leadership experience including knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and techniques preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of HR systems and strong understanding of core HR processes (i.e., payroll, tax, and time & labor system processing).
- Experience leading large scale organizational change.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with business leaders to drive creative solutions, strong business acumen.
- Adept at providing strategic direction while remaining integrally involved with the tactical management of the department.
- Merger and acquisition integration experience.
- Strategic mindset with an understanding of business operations and data needs.
- Capable of acting as the voice of HR across the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of HRIS Systems, integrations, and workflow (ADP preferred).
- Collaborative, able to consider multiple viewpoints while making timely decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Capable of adapting to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
