The City of Harrisburg is accepting resumes for the position of Group Violence Intervention (GVI) Support & Outreach Coordinator in the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Police. This is a temporary, part-time, grant-funded position with the City of Harrisburg. This position engages individuals with histories of gun violence in furtherance of the City of Harrisburg’s Group Violence Intervention (GVI) strategy. The Support & Outreach Coordinator will work as a team with the GVI project manager, credible messengers, and local partners including: social service agencies, faith-based and community organizations, law enforcement, city officials, community members and the National Network for Safe Communities toward achieving the established goals and objectives. The Support & Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for establishing, nurturing and maintaining partnerships with agencies that can assist with redirecting and supporting positive behaviors, and prevent gang involvement. The Support & Outreach Coordinator will report directly to the Commander of the Community Services Division.
GRANT FUNDED POSITION
This contract position will be funded by a grant through June of 2024 at an hourly rate of $25 per hour.
