About The Enterprise Innovation Institute
The Enterprise Innovation Institute is Georgia Tech's economic development arm, comprised of more than a dozen programs. It's the largest and most comprehensive university-based program of its kind in the United States. Its core focus areas include entrepreneurship and startup development, business and industry growth, ecosystem development, and international outreach.
Georgia Tech Extension Professionals are research personnel assigned to fulfill the extension service mission of Georgia Tech to the State of Georgia and beyond.This mission includes, but is not limited to, technology-based economic development, technology commercialization and deployment, entrepreneurship, start-up company incubation, and business/industry outreach. Extension Professionals also provide educational programs for business and industry in support of these missions through facilitating and fostering increased industrial engagement and sponsorship of applied research activities at Georgia Tech.

Job SummaryThe Business Development Director for GT-EI2 plays a pivotal role in advancing Georgia Tech's extension, service, and economic development missions by strategically driving the generation of new revenue streams. This position is responsible for leading and prioritizing the long-term organizational new revenue strategy, with a primary focus on achieving a minimum of 5% annual new revenue growth through the expansion of GT-EI2 services to its clients. The incumbent will continually assess, prioritize, and measure the value of potential projects that align with the organizational mission and culture. This role encompasses program sustainability, diversification strategies, client feedback analysis, capture management, and new grant and contract proposal management.

Extension Professional I
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related/relevant field.
Extension Professional II
- A Master's degree in Business or Engineering, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, orA Master's degree in Business or Engineering, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or A Doctoral degree.
Senior Extension Professional
- A Master's degree in Business or Engineering, and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, orA Master's degree in Business or Engineering, and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or A Doctoral degree in Business or Engineering, and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred Education:BS degree in business, engineering, or other related fields in combination with an advanced degree (MS or doctorate) in a business-related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Business Development, strategic planning, or a related role.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing revenue generation strategies.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of government funding programs and grant application processes is a plus.
