Overview

The Director of Business Development is the primary leader responsible for the Top of Funnel organization for the Vice President of Risk Sales and is tasked with maximizing pipeline generation against rolling 12-month Risk Sales pipeline targets.

 

Starting base pay for this role is between $120,000 and $140,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will also be eligible for bonus and benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Works with cross functional peers in Talent and L&E to lead recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts for new SDR/BDRs.
  • Ensures quarterly execution against VSQO targets for existing BDRs and Team Leads by scaling best practices and executing performance management process.
  • Builds a culture of collaborative competition and high energy through accountability, recognition, and rewards.
  • Makes the Inside Sales section of the office the loudest, most interesting, most fun part of the office with the goal of being asked to quiet down twice per month.
  • Acts as a key advisor to the VP of Risk Sales and recommends iterations of future strategies across various routes to market (RTM) including Marketing, Inside Sales, Marketing, NTW Sales, Account Management, Technical Sales Consultants, and Service Professionals.
  • Works closely with Sales Operations to measure and analyze pipeline outcomes on continual basis and is expected to make recommendation for tweaks in tactics.
  • Ensures that Inside Sales Teams fully capitalize on existing Demand Generation and Portfolio Marketing strategies in a timely manner.
  • Provides metric based feedback on Field Marketing Strategies and makes recommendations on how budget is spent against specific future events, work to drive attendance of key prospects to those events.
  • Works with key stakeholders in Customer Advocacy/ Reference Program to ensure proactive reference selling is occurring at Top of Funnel.
  • Works with MSL, PMM, and Sales Leadership to set specific quarterly pipeline targets against Product announcements, Marketing Campaigns, and Sales Plays.
  • Performs team member review, evaluation, and compensation processes.
  • Manages team, directly and indirectly, with the goal of enhancing professional development and personal growth.
  • Identifies, provides, and coordinates additional trainings opportunities for team members.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field.
  • 5+ years of sales or account management experience in a complex professional services environment.
  • 3+ Years managing a team.
  • Experience performing within and leading an Inside Sales team.
  • Career motivated with a desire to run an organization.
  • Superior recruiting and communication skills
  • Insurance industry experience preferred.
