Description
Looking for an experienced level tax role at an energetic & passionate company? We are in search of a Tax Accountant to join our team. This position is in the firm's DC-based office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares individual, corporate, partnership and S-corporation tax returns.
- Prepares personal tax projections.
- Reviews information submitted by client for completeness.
- Organizes & assembles client's tax data for accurate completion of tax returns.
- Makes adjusting entries and completes trial balances in order to prepare a tax return.
- Responds to tax notices of any sort and does initial drafts of any letters required.
- Utilizes various software to perform all job functions.
- Meets time constraints and client deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 0-2 years of related experience.
- Either hold a current and valid certified public accountant's license, or meet the requirements to sit for the CPA exam.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (excel, word).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive firm and client information.
- Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and timelines.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgment and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
