The position will report to the Tax Director and will have a close working relationship with the Corporate Finance and Accounting Group, along with interaction with the segment corporate offices and operating company locations.
Job Description:
Facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of company’s US federal corporate income tax return, as well as the preparation of the quarterly and annual global tax provision in accordance with US GAAP. Identify and lead Tax Compliance and reporting process improvements. Collaborate with the tax planning and tax controversy team within the tax department. Interact with all levels of management, internal and external auditors, and service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Efficient preparation of the US federal consolidated corporate tax return and management of quarterly estimated tax payments, working with external service provider
- Efficient preparation and review of the consolidated provision for income taxes under ASC 740 (including tax reserves) and related Footnote disclosures for Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Analyze and model the impacts of tax planning initiatives and other significant transactions for federal compliance and accounting for income taxes
- Work closely with tax department personnel in tax rate modeling and financial analysis of drivers of the Company’s effective tax rate and cash taxes
- Collaborate with tax planning, tax controversy, corporate accounting, business units, and legal counsel
- Monitor and ensure timely compliance with SOX internal controls over accounting for income taxes
- Interact with internal and external auditors and other service providers
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting for income taxes and U.S. corporate income tax law
- Proven ability to lead the completion of large, complex, income tax provisions ad tax returns within tight timeframes
- Ability to research and analyze income tax reporting and compliance issues, with strong written/verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
- Leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting/CPA
- 5+ years of technical U.S. income tax and technical tax accounting experience required (Big 4 experience preferred)
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience implementing process improvements, automation experience (e.g. Alteryx) is a plus
- Experience working on large compliance engagements and working with service providers, experience with CorpTax is a plus
