(Contingent upon available funding): 39,175.00 - 54,000.00, Salary Work Schedule: Typically, M-F, 8 am - 5 pm (occasional after hours and weekends) Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary:

The Kay County Community Based Prevention Services (CBPS) Grant Coordinator must be able to work independently and within a team environment. The Grant Coordinator will coordinate the effort of the funded project. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and/or facilitation of a Community Data Work-group (CDW) which will work on community needs assessment. The Coordinator will follow the guidelines of the Strategic Prevention Framework model. Will work with the partnering coalition to develop work plans and implement work plan objectives, conducts needs assessments and surveys as needed. Conducts training, organizes special events, provides technical assistance, and attends local, regional, and statewide meetings as required. Identifies community needs and gaps in services, networks with community agencies, and remain knowledgeable about systems within the region. The Coordinator will also disseminate information and referral sources. Provides Alcohol, Marijuana and Stimulant other drug (ATOD) prevention technical assistance. Maintains contact with communities including local governments, schools, and community coalitions. Recruits project advocacy volunteers. Develops print and media articles for publication. Exhibits effectiveness in developing, and conforming to policies and procedures; support and enforcement of organizational commitments and goals, completion of assignments in line with established budgets and schedules. Maintains complete, accurate and current records. Submits all required reports in a timely and efficient manner. Submits all required reports in a timely and efficient manner. Identifies community needs in terms of awareness, advocacy, and education regarding the scope of substance abuse and related problems. Prepares and delivers presentations to address gaps in knowledge and services.

Must possess valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Travel within service areas is required. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required, as well as all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

One year of community work /prevention programming and/or environmental prevention programming and/or community organizing and assessment.

Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) - Eligibility CPS should be attained within 18 months of hire date.

Must possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, community members, and other vested partners. Knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework model Knowledge of principles, practices and management of work plan development and grant writing. Skills and competency as an educator capable of effective training and supervision. Knowledge of community organization and assessment Knowledge of current trends and practices Ability to complete and maintain accurate records. Ability to assist in completion and submission of grant applications. Ability to produce and submit media publications for various media outlets (newspaper, radio, social media).
