General Description:

The Grants Grants and Contracts Research Coordinator plays a pivotal role in assisting the Executive Director in securing funding opportunities for OCCC by conducting comprehensive research, managing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. This position requires a blend of research proficiency and organizational capabilities to effectively support the institutions financial sustainability and programmatic goals.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of (2) years’ work experience in grant research, compliance, or assistance with a grant program
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept an Associate’s Degree and (4) years’ experience in grant research, compliance, or assistance with grant programs.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication
Strong writing skills
Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in project management, time management, and multitasking to meet competing deadlines and priorities.
Familiarity with grant management software, databases, and online resources for prospect research and grant tracking.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Commitment to the organization’s mission, values, and ethical standards, with a passion for advancing social impact and community development initiatives.
Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
Proficient in using computers with related knowledge of software programs and Internet

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the office and the OCCC campus to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 20 pounds to grasp, push, pull or lift materials or equipment.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):

Assist the Executive Director of Grants Administration in researching, screening, developing, applying, planning, budgeting, implementing and monitoring of sponsored programs and activities.
Manage and maintain all documentation files for sponsored programs to include grant applications, award letters, progress reports, expenditure reconciliations and any other documentation needed to verify grant compliance and performance.
Coordinate with faculty, and staff and the Grants/contracts accountant to develop and implement a systematic program review of grant funded projects that assist grant managers to comply with contractual agreements, internal policies and procedures, reporting purposes and satisfactory progress toward completion of grant project objectives.
Develop budget forecasts and assists with the tracking and monitoring of sponsored program expenditures.
Assist faculty and staff members in the preparation and submission of compliance reports.
Provide support to all grant awardees to aid in effective and appropriated expenditures of grant monies and effective grant project management.
Implement and maintain communication strategies that address the needs of the college, sponsored programs, funding representatives and key stakeholders to be well informed of program activities, timelines, accomplishments and any barriers or issues to be resolved.
Monitor and assist, as needed, in the preparation of project materials and reports.
Develop evaluation plans and processes, as needed to measure reporting metrics.
Offer periodic training and technical assistance as needed for program coordinators and staff of grant-funded programs.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
