Global Market Development Manager, Viral and Lipid Nanoparticle Delivery

How will you make an impact?

The Global Market Development Manager will be responsible for the strategy, development and execution of marketing campaigns for the viral delivery and emerging Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) delivery portfolios, using a customer-centric, go-to-market approach. This role will be a pivotal one in developing a multi-channel global strategy to launch a new product and services category into a high-growth market and help establish Thermo Fisher Scientific as a preferred partner for LNP technology.  LNPs have emerged as a widely versatile and promising vehicle for non-viral delivery, and viral vectors have been established as one of the go-to biological delivery methods for the latest cell and gene therapy breakthroughs. So, in this role, you’ll support scientists in accelerating their research and therapeutic development in areas such as mRNA vaccines, cell and gene therapy, personalized medicine, and more.

Location: Onsite role: Carlsbad, CA; Pittsburgh, PA; Waltham, MA; Frederick MD; Eugene, OR; Grand Island, NY or other Thermo Fisher Scientific location

What will you do?

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to support new product / portfolio commercialization, product portfolio positioning, analysis of customer segments, competitive analysis, and new market opportunities for the adoption of the viral delivery and LNP delivery portfolios in target markets.
  • Build engaging multi-channel marketing tactics to help drive awareness, demand, and conversion for viral vector and LNP products and services, spanning web, email, social media, video, events, and webinars
  • Develop and optimize educational content in a variety of format types in order to establish product and workflow-centric thought leadership
  • Build and maintain collaborative Key Influencers network for engagement in conference presentations, webinars, customer testimonials, and other partnerships
  • Work closely with the Digital Strategy Managers to maintain digital footprint of supported product portfolios through continuous optimization of paid search, organic search, display and social ads, and web content
  • Collaborate with R&D and business teams to provide market insights and customer feedback for the development of new viral vector and LNP products / services
  • Lead and contribute to broad, cross-divisional marketing efforts that showcase end-to-end Viral and LNP delivery solutions and demonstrate our thought leadership as a trusted partner to scientists
  • Lead participation in key industry and company-organized conferences, webinars, and virtual events, finding opportunities to showcase products, services, and data
  • Support regional Market Development Managers to build and implement marketing programs within their geographic regions and drive lead generation for regional commercial teams
  • Collaborate with product management to develop sales force training and customer education material
  • Act as a brand ambassador, understanding, upholding, and communicating our brand strategy in all aspects of our marketing programs
  • Establish and maintain campaign/program metrics dashboards to measure the efficiency of marketing activities
  • Manage marketing budget at a tactic, project, and program level to ensure alignment with annual operating plan
  • Travel may be required (Up to 25%)

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, or related life science required
  • Master’s, MBA, or PhD highly preferred

Experience

  • 5-+ years of experience in life science product and service marketing, channel marketing, and/or other closely related position, ideally in cell biology, cell & gene therapy, or nucleic acid delivery fields.  Understanding of clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing process/market/customer strongly preferred.
  • Validated knowledge of cell biology, cell & gene therapy, and nucleic acid delivery workflows and applications.  Ideal candidate will have knowledge of viral delivery systems, Lipid Nanoparticle technology, drug delivery mechanisms, and related techniques, products, and services for research and clinical use.
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing proficiencies: 4Ps, marketing mix, marketing channels, audience segmentation, product positioning, customer journey, and marketing program development and execution
  • Demonstrated product commercialization experience, with build and deployment of go-to-market strategy, value proposition, and tactical plan
  • Strong understanding of customer needs, drivers, and buying journey, with ability to apply VOC, VOS and market research to gain a better understanding of competitive landscape
  • Exceptional skill in developing digital marketing initiatives, including authoring content for webpages, display advertising, search engine marketing (SEM) and optimization (SEO), social, video, and automation approaches
  • Creative intuition on design and messaging, with experience crafting compelling content at every stage of buyer’s journey
  • Proven experience in collaborating with partners in other regions.
  • Experience in management of metrics dashboards and reports, with a strong bias for data-based decision-making

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$140,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
