Summary
The Global Corporate Communications Manager, will help develop and drive executive communications, along with internal and external communication strategies, initiatives and programs for The Firm of John Dickinson Schneider, Inc. (JDS Inc.), and its two operating subsidiaries, Hollister Incorporated and KMT Medical Incorporated. This individual will help develop consistent and clear internal and external communications that define, promote and champion our company’s 100-year-old history and its enduring Legacy – the JDS Inc. Mission, Vision, and Immutable Principles. 
The Global Corporate Communications Manager, is a crucial role for our thriving employee-owned company. We’re looking for dreamers with experience, creativity, and vision. Our ideal candidate is a true storyteller across various platforms, with exceptional writing skills combined with experience in a variety of communication media (print, video, digital, web and social). Responsibilities

  • Initiate, develop and implement strategies for executive, internal and external communication initiatives across multiple platforms globally 
  • Partner with Marketing, HR, company leadership and other stakeholders to develop and disseminate key messages globally - including appropriate media messages and pitches to outlets via press releases; bylines and various communication mediums/channels including social media and the company’s quarterly newsletter; consistent earned media placement
  • Write, edit and develop various communication materials including, but not limited to scriptwriting for video projects, magazine articles, speeches, press releases, website and social media copy, Intranet articles and Associate communications
  • Support special projects and events with creative storytelling
  • Collaborate and contribute to cross-business initiatives and global campaigns
  • Coordinate global adherence and ongoing refinement to corporate brand guidelines and policies, in collaboration with Global Marketing, Regulatory and Legal
  • Work with external vendors and agencies to support the company’s communication needs globally 
  • Provide strategic communications counsel throughout JDS Inc.
  • Plan, draft and execute crisis communication as needed, and support change management plans throughout the company
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed or required

  • Experience: Knowledge and meaningful experience in the Healthcare Industry is preferred, along with experience working in a complex, global environment

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Significant time devoted to both business writing and creative content, as well as considerable verbal communication in-person and virtually
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of time (either local or global) 
     

Work Experience Requirements

  • 8-12 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Marketing Communications, Advertising or Communications Agency, Broadcast Journalism, Print Journalism, other Mass Media or related fields
  • Clear thinking, creative communications, and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated project management experience
     

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; commensurate experience in Corporate Communications, Journalism (either print or broadcast), Public Relations (PR), Marketing Communications, or related field
     

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge

  • Superb oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and develop creative solutions that drive results
  • Knowledgeable in video production and digital content creation 
  • Comfortable working with JDS' Executive Leadership Team and handling highly confidental/sensitive information 
  • Excellent English language communication (both verbal and written)
