ProSource Land Services, a leader in the right of way, acquisition, and relocation industry, is searching for a GIS Specialist. We are seeking qualified full time GIS Specialist for work in the Houston, TX area.
The purpose of the GIS Specialist is to maintain and update GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data for infrastructure and parcel mapping and/or performs CAD (Computer Aided Design) drafting for projects or assessment maps in order to support the functions of the department to which they are assigned. This position is responsible for practicing all ProSource procedures and complying with the requirements, and carrying out responsibilities as outlined in all company policies; also, completing all required training successfully.
Position Requirements:
- Analysis and preparation of maps to support energy, disaster recovery, environmental and various other types of projects.
- Create shapefile of routes and plan the route through landowner parcels to ensure minimal interference with natural surroundings and/or owner/client requests.
- Import/Export AutoCAD 2014 drawings/details.
- Locate and create images, shapefiles, parcel data, wetlands, FEMA, TOPO Contours and other miscellaneous boundaries and items needed to create visually aesthetic and informative maps needed to relay information to the client.
- Work with internal and external entities to provide detailed, accurate geospatial and GIS deliverables.
- Create maps by digitizing topographic details, identify land locations and geographic attributes.
- Assist Project Managers with GIS operational and project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma, preferred Associate’s degree with course work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or specialized GIS education or certification or related experience.
- 2 to 5 years related experience. Strong proficiency in GIS software and MS Office Software including Excel, Access Database, PowerPoint and MS Word. Familiarity with mechanical drawings.
