About The Position
The People Operations Generalist serves as a key point of contact for various human resources-related issues, offering support, advice, and assistance to both employees and management. This role encompasses a broad range of HR activities, including managing employee relations, overseeing benefits administration, and performing other critical tasks within the People Operations department. The primary duty of this position involves guiding managers and staff in HR practices, delivering information about employee benefits and general HR concerns, and offering comprehensive HR support. A strong commitment to providing exceptional internal customer service is essential. Additionally, the Generalist plays a vital role in advancing strategic HR initiatives and programs and is a dedicated advocate for the workforce.
This is a Fully Remote position from anywhere within the U.S.
Salary Range
$73,100 - $82,200. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
Responsibilities
- Benefits Administration: Serve as backup to the People Operations Administrator during absences and/or overflow for enrollments, orientations, changes, and terminations of coverages; claims resolution; compliance reporting; assist as needed during renewal processes; conduct compliance audits; Work with COBRA administrator to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and distribution of all required notices as well as timely enrollment and termination of employee elections
- 403(b) Administration: Responsible for ensuring all required notices are provided and available to employees; assist in compliance testing; address all questions related to 403(b) plan and oversee education in effort to have high adoption and enrollment; handle all distribution requests
- Human Capital Management: Serve as SME in HCM solution and assist HCM Administrator in training, and answering end-user questions; assist in the maintenance of configuration of HCM modules; identify and recommend process flow improvements to better meet the needs of customers and the organization; Moderate to advanced report writing, collaborate with other team members and managers to ensure that all data is accurate and current
- Documentation: Process, verify and maintain documentation of HR activities; Assists in updating department SOPs, forms, and reference documents via the document control process as needed; Assists with various research projects and/or special projects; Conducts/assists with audits of various payroll, benefits, and other HR programs
- Performance Management: Manage the performance review cycle bi-annually
- Talent Development: Manages Professional Development Program and budget
- Compliance Reporting: Responsible for or assisting in developing and maintaining affirmative action program; filing EEO-1 reports annually, maintain other records, reports and logs in compliance with EEO regulations; annual CMS disclosure; and annual VETS reporting
- Administer the Drug Testing Program (BDPR)
- Compensation Management: Assist with education of the Compensation Program and providing salary analysis and FLSA compliance
- People Operations Helpdesk: Act as liaison between employees and management to answer questions regarding policies, practices and regulations; research and respond to HR inquiries and other requests related to Professional Development, Distributions, and BDPR program
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2-3 years’ experience with HCM. Workday experience strongly preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in human resources and benefit administration strongly preferred
- 2-4 years’ non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations, plan designs, and third party record keeping/administration required
- Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and related state and federal regulations required
- Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
- Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines and to manage multiple projects
- Computer skills including intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software, at minimum
