Generalist, People Operations
This position is a Hybrid position. Three days in the Exton, PA office, two days remote.
Job Description
You are responsible for all employee relations. This includes mapping and managing the entire employee journey and lifecycle. You will help find, develop, and retain employees.
You will partner with all areas of the company to help our team build and support the organization. This will involve driving recruitment to find the best talent, coaching on leadership, working with other leaders to developing pathways for professional growth for each employee on their team and their team as a whole, and helping to resolve employee relations issues.
You will act as a champion for the company culture and will support the company’s executives and Senior Leadership Team as a trusted advisor and proactive participant, connecting our employees’ performance to support company goals.
In this role you will be responsible for all traditional People Operations-related activities, as set forth in more detail below.
Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve meaningful annual goals. You and your leadership team will work together to set your goals. Your performance will be reviewed on a regular basis, and no less than four times a year, through a series of meaningful one-on-one conferences or “focus meetings” with your immediate supervisor.
- Core Responsibilities
All aspects of employee relations
- Track and analyze data (key traditional People Operations metrics) to provide useful data to help guide decision making, and allow the company to scale effectively and efficiently.
- Work with senior leadership and own all People Operations-related activities, including but not limited to: leading the employee journey and lifecycle; maintaining current job descriptions; recruiting/hiring/onboarding; developing professional growth paths for all teams and employees; performance management; employee separation and exit interviews; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives; leave administration (PTO, FMLA, ADA, etc.); organizational training (annual compliance training, ongoing leadership and HR subject training)
- Provide People Operations support and consultation across the business on the most complex issues, support all supervisors/managers/leaders in recruitment, performance management, staff relations and people development
- Ensures employee files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation, are properly maintained and secured for the required length of time.
- Provide leadership on people-related issues and policies across the company.
- Be able to communicate at all levels in the company and to support business development and change
- Other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time, to address organizational needs
- Minimum Qualifications
- SHRM-CP certification (or willing to obtain the certification)
- 5+ years HR business partner or generalist experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Hold a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience with proof of People Operations related qualifications and experience in best practice.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Must have the ability to interact with staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Meaningful expertise of providing advice on complex issues and implementing decisions
- Shown ability to challenge conventional approaches to People Operations
- Superior communication skills
- Advanced analytical skills
