Saildrone works with governments, civil agencies, foundations, universities, and private companies around the globe to drive better information about our oceans and seas-from sailing into the eye of a category 4 hurricane to obtain new data about how storms intensify, collecting new CO2 data in hard-to-reach areas, and counting fish biomass to inform sustainable fishery management, to mapping the ocean floor and reducing illegal fishing and drug trafficking. The Role

We are looking for a talented People Operations Generalist to join our fun and exciting People Operations team. In this role you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on a growing company with an incredibly talented workforce.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all of the fun and exciting People Operations Initiatives
• Partner with Managers on Training & Development initiatives
• Promote People Operations programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
• Assist in development and implementation of People Operations policies
• Organize annual employee performance reviews with VP People
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
• Resolve employee relations issues
• Pulse check employee morale and company culture and suggest and create programs to enhance
• Coordinate open enrollment training for employee benefits programs
• Manage day to day ADP responsibilities (New Hires, Benefits and Partnering with payroll)
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
• Monitor and report on workforce and succession planning

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years proven experience as an People Operations/HR Generalist
• Excellent people management skills
• Analytical and goal oriented
• Demonstrable experience with People Operations metrics
• Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
• Ability to process and be responsive to 'immediate need' request from managers and personnel
• Ability to confront issues, make decisions and resolve conflict
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Aptitude in problem-solving
• Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
• BSc/BA in Business administration or relevant field
• Experience with ADP WFN, Jobscore and Carta a plus

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed on a computer and requires ability to operate a keyboard and other peripheral devices.
  

Location: This position is in Alameda, CA. Our waterfront office offers beautiful views of San Francisco Bay in always sunny Alameda. Even our walls have good karma, our offices mix software development with a hardware production line in the former airplane hangar used to film 'The Matrix'.
