Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Accounts Receivable Specialist II

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: This position is open to candidates in the Virginia and North Carolina area with Hybrid opportunity following training and on-boarding process

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 4:30PM (ET).

Position Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is accountable for daily operational tasks associated with revenue cycle accounts receivable.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for:

  • follow-up and timely and effectively managing requests from patients, insurance primary, secondary, and tertiary payers, and clearing hours
  • prepares all appeals and resolves all upfront edits and denials.
  • Routinely monitors and processes monthly write-offs, charge corrections and reconciliation of claim files for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Creates and maintains reports for business operations and special projects. Utilizes knowledge of numerous databases, information systems, statistical tools and analytical principles to monitor and analyze information in support of the business.
  • Assists in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of information systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years' insurance claims or medical billing experience required.

  • Diploma/Certification in medical Insurance Billing and Coding, in lieu of the years of experience.

  • Epic experience preferred

  • Designs, produces and analyzes reporting data.

Qualifications:

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required) Related experience
