About the Role

This key role will work closely with business partners across the organization to provide practical and sound legal advice on a broad range of matters. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with complex contract negotiations and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the COO. The position is IN OFFICE in Charlotte, NC.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Review, draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including Insurance Carriers, agents and strategic Partners.
- Investigate, handle and enforce all Compliance Matters dictated by our Insurance carrier partners and the Centers for Medicare Services.
- Educate and Counsel Staff at all levels of the organization.
- Drive best practices by maintaining and updating legal templates and playbooks and implementing improved contract management processes and tools.
- Partner with and manage relationship with External legal Counsel when necessary
- Manage Compliance Director and supporting team to ensure Company Compliance standards are met and enforced.
- Liaison with Insurance Carrier Executives and Legal staff on Contracting and Compliance Matters
The Skills You’ll Bring:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience. Insurance Industry Experience is a Plus
- Degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
- Member in good standing of state bar.
- Strength in delivering practical, actionable advice to overcome challenges.
- Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors and customers.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate legal considerations to non-lawyers.
- Professional maturity to take ownership of various assignments with limited supervision.
- Ability to influence and provide effective advice at all organizational levels.
- Working knowledge of HIPPA, data privacy and security issues.
- Detail-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful with strong follow-through skills.
- Friendly, not easily riled or offended and generally a kind and decent person.
Compensation
- Targeted annual compensation for this Position is $234,000 which includes a $156,000 base salary and an annual projected profit-sharing bonus of $78,000.
