JOB SUMMARY
The GPW Technician will be charged with assisting with the creation, maintenance, and repair of the renewable natural gas plant, associated well field pumps, natural gas pipeline, power generation plant, water desalination and wastewater treatment plant.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep informed about assigned systems operating status through regular inspections and checks of system components for inspectable items and notify supervisor immediately of any critical issue(s) observed or identified.
- Use known quality assurance techniques and established performance criteria for the operations and maintenance of the natural gas delivery system, power generation plant, and desalination plant.
- Operate a variety of equipment and machinery through active monitoring and adjustments made to valves, switches and other controls as well as pumps and filters for the proper control of various processes in particular utility system.
- Repair or replace broken or damaged parts on systems.
- Assist with the creation and revision of standard operating procedures and emergency management plans.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with systems.
- Operate various maintenance equipment, including but not limited to, hand, electrical or air tools.
- Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures, including using the lock-out/tag-out system before performing maintenance work.
- Perform pm work on mechanical and electrical systems
- Maintain organization and cleanliness.
- Assist with stocking, unloading and delivering supplies.
- Assist with maintaining a parts inventory.
- Document repair operations and time-tracking in the designated system and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain equipment and tools essential to accomplishing daily tasks.
- Perform general housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Two years of relevant industrial facility maintenance experience, or completion of a trade school program
- Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
- Demonstrated familiarity with the principles and techniques of mechanical and electrical controls repair and maintenance
- Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of field related experience
- Trades training
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Licensure or certification that pertains to the assigned system for which the finalist is hired or to which an employee is promoted.
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Safe driving for the last three years
