JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Water Quality Supervisor, the Water Quality Specialist/ Coordinator is a key participant in the Company’s Water Quality program, and acts as of the main field support person for Water Quality and regulatory compliance with drinking and wastewater standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
Conducts routine and special sampling to support key programs and required lab activities, such as PFAS, DBP, Lead and Copper, LT2 and cryptosporidium
  • Works jointly with Engineering, Operations and Distribution departments to resolve or mitigate quality issues by performing system flushing. Ability to operate fire hydrants and sampling stations required.
  • Supports broader environmental quality efforts by contributing to protection plans
  • Participates in the data collection process for Annual Consumer Confidence Reports.
  • Participates in the development of communication items for customers, and customer outreach efforts.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent understanding, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software used by the organization; GIS, and general experience with presentation of spatial data or statistics preferred; Tableau and OnBase a bonus
  • Data management and/or systems design and implementation experience helpful.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry, biology or related field OR two years’ experience in water treatment/water chemistry, distribution, facility design, or related

Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
Occasional regional travel to Austin or potential acquisition sites.
Normal office physical activity required while utilizing standard office machines.
Frequently lift or carry boxes of files, equipment or records weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
