The Freelance Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing Social Media and influencer marketing plans that align with and support departmental goals, including but not limited to, building brand awareness, increasing community engagement, and driving food, beverage, and private event sales. This is a remote position that requires scheduled, weekly visits to Clifton’s Republic for meetings, content creation, and influencer engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Social Media and influencer marketing plans that align with and support departmental goals that build brand awareness.
- Create, coordinate, and manage the creation of all Social Media content.
- Capture and post major media coverage within 24 hours of publication.
- Request photo shoots or stock photography; provide shot lists and creative direction.
- Request graphics; provide direction.
- Gather user and influencer-generated content; request permissions; build library.
- Write all captions.
- Research and add hashtags and tags.
- IG Story Management - curate stories using the ‘add to story” feature and identify clever departure points to engage the audience (polls, questions, participating in "National Day of___"., roundups)
- IG Reel Management: Develop 1/month per concept from UGC, build 1/month from scratch, publish 1/month obtained from professional.
- Develop and execute Social Media influencer marketing plans including identifying and engaging with local influencers that meet target criteria.
- Develop an influencer perk program for marketing restaurants on their Social Media accounts.
- Track and amplify influencer-generated content.
- Engage with the community by monitoring accounts daily and responding to followers within 24 hours.
- Oversee paid advertising including boosting posts and running Meta ads.
- Participate in weekly status meetings with the marketing team.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and consumer insights and work with operations to enhance operations based on findings.
Must Haves:
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or a similar role within the restaurant industry.
- Ability to be onsite a minimum of 1x per week or as often as necessary.
- Understanding of copyright infringements.
- In-depth knowledge of Social Media platforms, trends, and best practices including TikTok, Instagram, and Meta
- Expertise with Sprout or comparable platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Social Media analytics tools.
- Ability to independently create creative posts, reels, and videos for social platforms.
- Flexible working hours may be required to accommodate real-time engagement, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
