The Fiscal Analyst 2 position is one of the two primary accountants responsible for Finance Department-Accounts Payable. This position will use independent judgement and problem-solving skills to process fiscal/financial documents, including payments to vendors and reimbursements reconcile the college’s corporate visa accounts. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will work closely with cross departmental staff to ensure accuracy in all job functions.
This position is a classified full-time position and eligible for overtime.
SALARY INFORMATION:The above salary reflects the starting step (Step C) Range 44 for this classified position and includes a 5% King County compensation provision. As a new employed classified employee, based on annual increments, it will take 5 years to reach Step L on the salary schedule. This does not reflect any contractual changes, legislative mandated salary increases or Cost of Living Increases (COLA's) that may be approved in the future.
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this position will:
- Perform fiscal duties in accounts payable to process payments to vendors;
- Process fiscal and financial documents, including reimbursements;
- Resolve and reconcile discrepancies;
- Prepare recurring accounting reports and adjusting journal entries;
- Review, interpret and correct general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable and accounts payable;
- Reconcile and process for payment the monthly college’s corporate travel visa account;
- Process travel advance requests for Athletics including tracking and reconciling outstanding advances;
- In collaboration with purchasing, assist with tracking small and attractive inventory;
- Assist in the implementation of NelNet for student payment plans and then provide administrative support for the program;
- Provide administrative support to Financial Aid related to funding via BankMobile including reconciliation of BankMobile reports to FMS to ensure accurate reporting;
- Provide support for Cashiering;
- Maintain accounts and records; authorize and enter fiscal transactions; compile and prepare periodic fiscal statements and reports;
- Assist higher-level fiscal personnel with summary information and analysis of records and reports;
- Prepare, audit, verify and process final documents such as vouchers, purchase requests, invoices, receipts, payroll forms and bank deposit verifications;
- Interpret fiscal policies and procedures; assist in the monitoring and review of computer input/output;
- Provide suggestions for development and maintenance of computerized financial management and budget development systems;
- Prepare, verify and control input being processed, including responsibility for input;
- Review and verify fiscal reports for accuracy; investigate and correct errors to ensure compliance with established procedures and policies;
- Perform related duties as required.

- High School diploma; AND
- One year of full-time experience in clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal environment.
- Experience working with PeopleSoft;
- Earned college-level accounting or bookkeeping credits are preferred;
- Attention to detail;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Working with diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and employees.
- Prior work experience in a fiscal environment.
