Qualifications for Employment

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; five years of experience in analysis, maintaining financial accounts and records, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, strong interpersonal communication, and strong organizational skills required. Master’s degree, experience with Ellucian Banner and not-for-profit fund accounting, and experience in a higher education environment is preferred.

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Fiscal Analyst reports to the Comptroller and performs the following duties: 

•    Prepares, reviews and analyzes statistical and financial reports for internal (College) or external (Federal, State, etc.) distribution/submission.
•    Completes an analysis of accounts within the General Ledger in accordance with best practices and documented procedures and schedules.
•    Assists with institutional bank reconciliations.
•    Completes the annual Cost of Curriculum Study Report.
•    Responsible for plant fund accounting.
•    Responsible for preparing data for the Actuary.
•    Completes annual calculations for auditors to include vacation accrual and termination benefits.
•    Prepares automated or manual recurring fiscal reports in accordance with GAAP
•    Maintains ledger accounts and analyzes fiscal data; 
•    Assists with fiscal year-end closing of financial records.
•    Assists with accounting for the Educational Opportunity Center.
•    Responsible for working with the College’s independent auditors to reconcile the annual financial statements to the College’s financial reports.
•    In the absence of the Comptroller, as Assistant Treasurer, assists the Vice President for Administration and CFO in the authorization of all student and vendor disbursements.
•    Performs other duties assigned.

This is a full-time 12-month Management Confidential position with a salary range of $50,000.00-$55,000.
