As the Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Manager at Daiso USA, you will be instrumental in providing in-depth analysis and insights into the financial performance of the company. With Daiso USA experiencing rapid growth, your role will be pivotal in driving business expansion and collaborating closely with the functional leadership team. We are seeking individuals who are proactive in driving change and are passionate about achieving tangible results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to the Daiso USA management team, overseeing daily revenue, expenses (including supply chain, store expenses, and other operating expenses): This involves closely monitoring and analyzing the financial performance of the company on a day-to-day basis, providing insights and recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency in various areas such as supply chain management and store operations.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership teams to lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes: Work closely with department heads to develop and finalize annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives. This collaboration will involve gathering input from various departments, analyzing financial data, and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Implement, streamline, and enhance Financial Planning and Analysis processes, including the digitization of forecasting procedures: Utilize advanced financial tools and technologies to automate and improve FP&A processes, making them more efficient and accurate. This may involve implementing new software systems, creating standardized reporting templates, and training team members on best practices.
  • Take charge of financial management processes to mitigate risks and identify growth opportunities: Proactively identify potential financial risks and opportunities for growth, developing strategies to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities. This may include conducting scenario analysis, stress testing financial models, and recommending strategic initiatives to drive business growth.
  • Develop financial models to optimize existing business operations and assess new investment opportunities: Create sophisticated financial models to evaluate the performance of current business operations and assess the feasibility of new investment opportunities. These models will help in making informed decisions regarding resource allocation, pricing strategies, and capital investments.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial analysis packages for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews: Compile detailed financial reports and analysis for regular business reviews, highlighting key performance indicators, variances from targets, and actionable insights. These reports will provide management with a clear understanding of the company financial health and performance.
  • Participate in the monthly closing process in collaboration with the accounting team: Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely monthly financial closings, reviewing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and addressing any discrepancies. This collaboration is essential for maintaining financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and execute plans to achieve budget and forecast targets: Offer strategic guidance based on financial analysis and insights, recommending initiatives to achieve budget and forecast targets.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working in a global company within the retail industry is advantageous.
  • Ability to offer an external perspective and challenge existing processes.
