The Finance Senior Financial Analyst for Madison Reed will play a crucial role in providing advanced financial modeling, in-depth analysis, and actionable insights to drive the financial performance of the company or specific channels/P&Ls. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of motivation, self-drive, and possess substantial experience in financial statement analysis (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) as well as operational and KPI analysis that directly correlates to financial outcomes.

In this position, the Finance Senior Financial Analyst will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the CFO and the FP&A team, offering valuable insights and recommendations. This role offers a unique opportunity for significant exposure to business leaders and senior executives, contributing to key decision-making processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Finance Senior Financial Analyst will also serve as a mentor and leader within the team.

The base salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $120,000. At Madison Reed, we aim to pay competitively. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

What you will do:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop long-term financial strategies, evaluating investment opportunities, and advising on financial implications of business decisions to produce a total annual budget, quarterly reforecasts & 3-year strategic plan and quarterly forecasts.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with the Senior Manager of FPA, VP FPA and CFO in the creation of the finance narrative for MBR/QBR reviews to drive financial performance, make scalable strategic decisions, and provide insights to optimize business operations through the total company financial model and corresponding KPI's
  • Leadership: Lead projects or initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the FP&A function.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide effective communication skills to present financial information to executive audiences.
  • Advanced Financial Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis skills of COGS (and hence Gross Margin) by channel and its drivers: unit costs, volume drivers (ie. orders/appointments, package weights, kitting volume, etc) and mix, including forecasting, ad hoc reporting, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and risk assessment to support strategic decision-making.
  • Technology and Automation: Leverage technology tools, advanced analytics, and automation solutions to streamline financial processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, as well as developing risk management strategies to safeguard the financial health of the company.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field of finance to drive innovation and improve financial performance.

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance, and 3-5 years in FPA, corporate finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Finance (Budgeting, Performance Reporting, and Financial analysis).
  • Extensive experience with financial systems: ERP/Planning Tools (Netsuite, Adaptive Planning) and Reporting (Tableau/Power BI) is strongly preferred.
  • Modeling guru with very advanced excel skills is a MUST.
  • Basic understating of SQL to self serve reporting from Looker is strongly preferred (or will be a requirement to learn while in the job)
  • You enjoy problem solving - digging into complex and ambiguous data sets and synthesizing the "so what"s at an executive level
  • You are self-directed, thrive in ambiguous situations, and love to take charge of complex tasks with minimal direction.
  • You are excited about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced start-up environment, and to be a key partner as we scale the company.
  • Background in DTC subscription or 4-Wall business and experience in both early stage and later stage growth companies desired.
  • You are eager to develop new ways of approaching business challenges independently and proactively.
  • You have excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
