Supervises, coordinates and promotes all phases of the interscholastic Field Hockey program. Combines a comprehensive knowledge of the sport of Field Hockey with coaching experience to improve the fundamental skill, team strategy and athletic fitness needed to achieve a degree of individual and team success. This person is directly responsible to the principal and works in cooperation with the faculty manager.
Within the framework of the Field Hockey program, the Field Hockey Coach provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of coaching to ensure each student-athlete will achieve a full and productive Field Hockey experience. To accomplish this, the Field Hockey Coach must be involved in the planning, development and implementation of programs designed to improve individual and team needs. Such teaching activities include but are not limited to: heading, kicking, passing, throw-in, trapping and corner kick.
