(1099 Independent Contractor Position):
Here at True Blessings, a Family Time Specialist provides parent-child supervised visitation services for families who are in transition. The Family Time Specialist will be responsible for servicing clients at one of our centers or can be responsible for transporting children from their placement to an agreed and approved visitation site. A Family Time Specialist keeps the child safe and ensures their well-being; Engages parent(s) and sibling(s); Creates an atmosphere and an environment that encourages the parent-child relationship, and Nurtures the child and supports the parent. The Family Time Specialist must adhere to strict confidentiality standards as well as all mandated policies. Family Time Specialist must be vaccinated or provide an accommodation/exemption letter to be eligible for a Subcontractor Position. Candidates who provide services must meet the following minimum qualifications for the Family Time Service Worker position:
At least twenty-one (21) years of AGE;
High school diploma or GED;
Twelve (12) months of documented experience working with children and families in the following settings (These twelve (12) months may include volunteer time or internship):
(a) A Washington State licensed in-home or facility based daycare, or nanny;
(b) School setting;
(c) A child placing agency, residential care program, or as a licensed foster parent;
(d) Conducting supervised visits; and
(e) Working as staff directly with children and families in a community service organization such as, but not limited to:
i. The YMCA;
ii. A scouting organization; or
iii. Sports program.
OR
Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field, or two (2) years of completed coursework toward a Bachelor's degree; and Six (6) months of documented experience directly working with children and families in the
following settings (These six (6) months may include volunteer time or internship):
(a) A Washington State licensed in-home or facility based daycare, or nanny;
(b) School setting;
(c) A child placing agency, residential care program, or as a licensed foster parent;
(d) Conducting supervised visits; or
(e) Working as staff directly with children and families in a community service organization such
as, but not limited to:
i. The YMCA;
ii. A scouting organization; or
iii. Sports program.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field;
AND
Prior to hire, all Service Workers must be assessed by the Contractor to possess the following:
(a) Knowledge of child safety;
(b) Effective problem solving;
(c) Excellent verbal and written communication;
(d) Knowledge of basic child development and milestones; and
(e) Effective interpersonal communication.
Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); and
Completion of a minimum of two (2) hours of instruction on blood-borne pathogens in the past five (5) years.
At least two (2) written references from prior employer(s)/supervisors documenting their skills in working with children. These must be retained in the personnel file of the employee, subcontractor, or volunteer.
Must be able to clear a background check.
Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Must be computer proficient
Must be flexible and able to work days, evenings, and weekends
Must be able to lift infants and small children
Must be able to work with parent coaches, Guardian ad Litem, Law Enforcement, counselors, and other agencies as required in some cases.
If you do not obtain some of the above documents and/or requirements, True Blessing’s Family Time Services will assist you in acquiring them if possible.
Must complete twenty hours of non-paid training.
