RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Family Development Coordinator enroll and appropriately place children who qualify for child care
- Enter financial information into the ECCIMS system full day slots in the West
- The Family Development Coordinator complete reassessments as they are due
- Complete monthly attendance for assigned classrooms
- Assist with recruitment and maintain waitlist for child care
- Maintain communication with DCF social workers for supportive slots. Share information received as needed with Head Start FSC’s, FCC and School Age Coordinator on shared family members
- The Family Development Coordinator monitor compliance with the Nutritional Program (CCFP) and complete nutrition reviews three times per year in the child care classrooms
- The Family Development Coordinator ensure milk orders are placed for the center
- Communicate meal changes to the cafeteria
- Maintain financial/slot information and required EEC and program information in each child’s file
- Provide appropriate referrals and information on community resources
- Record case notes and other required information in the electronic database child record system
- Arrange and attend case conferences as appropriate
- Participate in staff meetings
- Follow up on child absenteeism
- Assist with arranging transportation services for children
- Assist parents in acquiring medical and dental care for each child
- Assist with child screenings and coordinate necessary support services
- Maintain a binder with copies of all information sent home monthly and a copy to supervisor
- Attend building meetings
- Assist with answering telephones
- Assist with arranging early morning coverage when needed
- Check and respond to agency emails on a regular basis
- Other duties as assigned within scope
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Early Childhood, Human Services or related field and two years’ work experience in child care and/or case management. A combination of a CDA and work experience may be substituted for degree.

- Exhibit cultural sensitivity
- Bi-lingual staff must be able to speak, write and read in two languages, and assist with translations as necessary.
- Fulfillment of all specific health and safety requirements (staff physical every two years, with evidence of Mantoux and MMR test, OSHA, first aid and CPR)
- Must have a suitable Background Record Check (BCR)
- Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to lift children and/or work related equipment, walk, bend, sit on floor and climb stairs
- Follow MOC policies and procedures as described in the Staff Handbook and Personnel Policies as well as the Head Start Program Performance Standards and Dept. of Early Education and Care regulations
