Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) Opportunity

The Idaho State Liquor Division (ISLD) is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Foreman. This position is a full-time position and will be located at the ISLD central office in beautiful Boise, Idaho.
Summary:
To plan, direct, and perform repair and maintenance of a large building or a complex of smaller buildings; perform related work.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintains plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related systems
  • Repairs appliances, plumbing fixtures, and replaces lights, ballasts, receptacles, and switches
  • Sets-up preventive maintenance schedules
  • Oversees painting, remodeling, and building repairs
  • Examines interior and exterior of buildings for damage, and initiates necessary repair
  • Inspects fire extinguishers and systems for working ability
  • Performs routine maintenance of vehicles, manages fleet
  • Oversee custodial services
  • Ensures grounds surrounding facility are cared for properly and sprinkler systems are maintained
  • Inspects and lubricates fans, filters, and motors
  • Repairs roofs
  • Builds and repairs wooden structures
  • Determines facilities needs and makes arrangements for contracted and vendor services
  • Meets with subcontractors to determine schedules, project scope, needs, and changes
  • Inspects all completed contract work for compliance with contract details
  • Creates budget recommendations, manages cost expenditures, and projects future needs for the facility department
  • Evaluates equipment life expectancy and replaces as appropriate for facility department
  • Assists in writing maintenance and administrative reports, contracts, and scopes of work
  • Assists Risk Management on all facility needs
  • Assists with training staff in the operation and maintenance of tools, equipment, and related facilities devices
  • Oversees disposal of fixed asset process for items deemed no longer needed, including: posting on state website, posting ad in newspaper, coordinating auction vendor pickup, and all required documentation for facilities and accounting tracking

Minimum Qualifications:
Some knowledge of:
  • Supervisory practices. Typically gained by at least 6 months of experience where supervising others was a major part of the job.

Good knowledge of:
  • Building and life safety codes. Typically gained by a minimum of one year of work experience where knowledge of building and life safety codes was a major part of the job.
  • Methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work. Typically gained be a minimum of one year of experience where knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work was a major part of the job.

Experience:
  • Performing commercial building facility maintenance. Typically gained by at least one year of work experience performing commercial building facility maintenance.
  • Performing skilled repair and maintenance in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, and grounds related work. Typically gained by a minimum of one year of work experience performing skilled repair and maintenance in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, and grounds related work OR completion of a trade program for the listed trades.
  • Using the tools and equipment associated with the trades indicated. Typically gained by at least one year of experience where using tools and equipment was a regular part of the job.
  • Reading blueprints and specifications. Typically gained by at least one year of work experience reading blueprints and specifications.
  • Estimating material needs and costs for jobs. Typically gained by at least one year of experience estimating material needs and costs for jobs..
  • Maintaining records and writing reports. Typically gained by at least one year of experience maintaining records and writing reports.
  • Performing maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) work. Typically gained by at least one year of experience performing maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) units.
