Spanning 35 acres on Montauk’s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities.
As the Executive Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort and guest satisfaction within our hotel's guest rooms and public areas. Your exceptional leadership and organizational skills will be essential in overseeing a team of dedicated housekeeping colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping team, including room attendants, housekeeping supervisors and laundry colleagues
- Create and maintain a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and professional growth
- Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures and standards to ensure consistent service quality
- Monitor and control inventory of cleaning supplies, linens and amenities
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of housekeeping materials
- Maintain cost-effective housekeeping budgets and financial reports
- Ensure that guest rooms and public areas are immaculate and well-maintained
- Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms to maintain cleanliness standards
- Develop and implement a rigorous quality control program to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Regularly inspect guest rooms and public areas to identify and rectify maintenance and cleanliness issues
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for housekeeping colleagues
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery
- Ensure that all housekeeping activities comply with health and safety regulations
- Implement and enforce proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Manage and report any health and safety incidents promptly
- Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, addressing their needs and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues to ensure guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper in a luxury hotel setting
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and quality
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in housekeeping software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
